Skills and experience

John has extensive experience of the functional food and sports nutrition sectors, having worked at GlaxoSmithKline for more than 35 years. John was global President of GSK Consumer Healthcare from 2006 to 2011, and was a member of GlaxoSmithKline plc Corporate Executive Team until March 2012.

Under John’s leadership from 2006 to 2011 GSK Consumer Healthcare was the fastest-growing business in the industry, growing by 60% and reaching sales of £5 billion despite recessionary environments in the majority of the business’ markets. The business added £2 billion and global expansion for 15 years from 1996 to 2011, Lucozade achieved growth of 13% CAGR throughout this period.

Stephen had an extensive corporate career with BP, Dalgety, Quaker and GlaxoSmithKline. He has held a wide range of functional roles in his career including supply chain, strategic project management, strategy planning, innovation and business development. At GSK he was Strategy Planning and Worldwide Business Development Director for the Nutritional Healthcare Division. He has an MBA from Ashridge Business School and a diploma in Clinical Organisational Psychology from INSEAD. After founding a functional food startup in 2003, he later became CEO of Provexis PLC and Science in Sport PLC was spun-out from this company in August 2013.

James is a chartered accountant who qualified at PwC and worked initially in audit before holding increasingly senior corporate roles at companies including ASOS, Tesco, Britvic and Cadbury Schweppes. He has extensive experience in the financial management of international consumer, e-commerce and multi-channel businesses. James joined Science in Sport from ASOS, the AIM-quoted fashion e-tailer, where he held the role of Operational Finance Director.

Tim Wright, has spent much of his career with GlaxoSmithKline (''GSK''), working in the consumer healthcare sector of the Company from 1982 to 2011. In his last 5 years at GSK, Tim was President of GSK's Global Brands, where he drove market leading revenue growth through world class marketing and innovation. After leaving GSK in 2011, Tim was appointed as President to Zarbee's Naturals, a privately owned natural medicine business. His role up to 2013 was to help establish the Company's brand and quickly grow the newly formed business from $3 million to $18 million. In 2014, Tim set up his own business, StepChange Strategy, which aims to create shareholder value for startup and multinational consumer healthcare companies, by focusing on brand strategy, innovation and geographic expansion. In 2015 Tim acquired, and now runs, Embrace Hearing.

Skills and experience

Roger joined the SIS Board during January 2020. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales having trained professionally with Price Waterhouse. His last executive role was as the Group Finance Director and a Board member of Mulberry Group plc for eight years, stepping down during May 2016. During his time at Mulberry he successfully led the business through a period of extremely rapid growth and international expansion. Prior to this he spent the previous 10 years in senior finance and commercial roles within the multinational Otto Group based in both Hong Kong and United Kingdom. He is also a non-executive director of Quiz plc, the AIM listed fast fashion brand where he chairs the Audit and the Remuneration Committees. On a pro bono basis he is a director of the Berkshire Golf Club and Beaudesert Park School Trust Limited.

Ashley joined the business in 2013 and has previously held roles managing the international business and most recently as Brand & Innovation Director for SiS. Ashley was formerly at Britvic Soft Drinks managing activation for the Gatorade brand.

Skills and experience

Neil joined SIS plc in January 2020 having previously held senior leadership positions at various FMCG, Retail and Media businesses. These include Home Retail Group, where he led digital innovation at Argos before running the Homebase ecommerce business, and most recently at Heineken where he was Ecommerce and Product Director for Europe. He has considerable international experience alongside functional expertise in ecommerce, digital product innovation and digital transformation. He has an MBA from the University of Westminster.
